Do plastic surgical anchors cause more bone loss?

NCT ID NCT06824545

Summary

This study aims to understand how often bone loss occurs after hand and wrist surgery when doctors use different types of suture anchors to reattach tissues. Researchers will look back at 180 patients who had surgery over the past 10 years, comparing plastic (PEEK), metal, and dissolving anchors. The main goal is to see if one type of anchor leads to more bone loss and if that bone loss actually causes problems for patients.
