New surgery aims to save limbs from diabetic wounds

NCT ID NCT07444593

Summary

This study is testing a surgical technique called transverse tibial transport (TTT) to see if it can help heal chronic foot and leg sores in people with diabetes. The procedure aims to improve blood flow to the wound area to promote healing and potentially prevent the need for amputation. It will compare this surgery plus standard wound care against standard wound care alone in 100 adults with sores that haven't healed for at least 12 weeks.
