New heart surgery technique aims to slash brain damage risk

Summary

This study tests a new surgical technique that avoids touching the aorta during heart bypass surgery to reduce the risk of brain complications like stroke or silent brain injury. About 380 adults with coronary artery disease will be randomly assigned to the new method or standard care. The goal is to see if the technique leads to fewer brain problems and better recovery.
