High-Tech 3D map guides surgeons to reduce prostate surgery complications
NCT ID NCT07251621
Summary
This study tested whether a new 3D surgical navigation system could help surgeons perform a specific prostate surgery (HoLEP) more precisely. The system combined MRI scans and real-time ultrasound to create a live map of the prostate during the operation. Researchers compared 150 patients who had surgery with the navigation system to those who had standard surgery, looking to see if it reduced complications like urinary incontinence or urethral narrowing.
