Medical glue aims to seal dangerous leaks in delicate pancreas surgeries

NCT ID NCT07155525

Summary

This study is testing if applying a special surgical glue during pancreas cancer surgery can prevent dangerous fluid leaks, which are a common and serious complication. About 194 patients with a 'soft' pancreas texture will be randomly assigned to receive surgery with the glue or standard surgery without it. The main goal is to see if the glue reduces the rate of these leaks within 30 days after the operation.
