New surgical flap aims to seal the deal on post-op leaks
NCT ID NCT07241611
Summary
This study tested if using a small flap of neck tissue to reinforce the surgical closure after removing the voice box (larynx) could help patients heal better. It aimed to reduce a common and serious complication where a leak, called a fistula, develops. The trial involved 50 patients who had their larynx removed due to advanced throat cancer.
