Race to stop surgical bleeding: new patch vs. 60-Year standard

NCT ID NCT06664775

Summary

This study compares two surgical patch products used to control mild to moderate bleeding during surgery. Researchers are testing whether a newer product (TachoSil) works better than a long-established one (Surgicel) at stopping bleeding quickly. The trial involves 116 people undergoing planned abdominal, pelvic, or chest surgeries where surgeons need help controlling soft tissue bleeding.
