Double attack on obesity: surgery plus new drugs tested for lasting weight loss
NCT ID NCT07336862
Summary
This study is testing whether combining weight-loss surgery with newer GLP-1 weight-loss medications (like semaglutide) works better than surgery alone for people with severe obesity. It aims to help patients lose more weight and keep it off long-term, while also improving related health problems like diabetes and high cholesterol. The study will follow 200 adults for about a year to see if this combined approach is safe and more effective.
