Heart valve showdown: open surgery vs. minimally invasive repair for High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT04822675

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares two treatments for people with a leaky heart valve (ischemic mitral regurgitation) and blocked heart arteries. One group gets open-heart surgery to fix the valve and bypass the blockages. The other group gets a less invasive valve repair first, followed by bypass surgery later. The goal is to see which approach leads to better survival and fewer heart problems.
