Surgery vs. pills: new trial seeks best fix for Post-Transplant bone threat

NCT ID NCT07415421

Summary

This study aims to find out if surgery is better than standard medication for treating a persistent hormone imbalance that often occurs after a kidney transplant. It will enroll 85 kidney transplant recipients and randomly assign them to either have a partial gland removal surgery or continue with medication and monitoring. Researchers will track changes in bone density, physical function, and quality of life over one year to see which approach works best.
