Radical surgery trial for advanced stomach cancer halted early

NCT ID NCT03042169

Summary

This study aimed to see if adding surgery to remove the main stomach tumor and a single metastatic site to standard chemotherapy helps patients with a limited spread of stomach cancer live longer and feel better than chemotherapy alone. It was a large, randomized Phase 3 trial, but it was terminated early after enrolling only 6 patients. The goal was to control the disease more aggressively in a carefully selected group of patients.
