First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at the best way to treat a rare and aggressive stomach cancer called signet ring cell adenocarcinoma. It compares two strategies: starting with surgery or starting with chemotherapy before surgery. About 314 patients will take part to see which approach helps people live longer.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
chemotherapy (peri-operative)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that starting with chemotherapy improves survival for people with this rare stomach cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a mid-stage trial, so results are not final. The cancer is rare and aggressive, so even the best approach may have limited success.
