Could major surgery skip the uncomfortable tube?
NCT ID NCT07321470
Summary
This study is testing if patients having major surgery for pancreas or bile duct tumors can safely avoid having a nasogastric (stomach) tube placed before and during their operation. Researchers will compare patients who skip the tube entirely to those who have it removed right after surgery, looking at complication rates and recovery. The goal is to reduce patient discomfort and potentially improve recovery after this complex procedure.
