Surgeons test if extra lymph node removal during cancer surgery improves survival

NCT ID NCT07321210

Summary

This study aims to find out if adding a specific lymph node removal procedure to the standard surgery for aggressive upper urinary tract cancer helps patients live longer and prevents the cancer from coming back. Researchers will randomly assign 150 patients to receive either the standard surgery alone or the standard surgery plus the lymph node removal. Participants will be closely monitored for up to 10 years to compare survival, cancer recurrence, and safety between the two approaches.
