Lung cancer surgery showdown: does cutting less help you breathe better?

NCT ID NCT06276530

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study compares two types of lung cancer surgery—traditional open surgery (thoracotomy) and newer, less invasive methods (video-assisted or robotic surgery). The goal is to understand why patients who have minimally invasive surgery often have fewer complications and a better quality of life. Researchers will measure changes in posture and breathing mechanics before and after surgery in 50 adults with early-stage lung cancer.
