Can four simple questions predict your surgery survival?
NCT ID NCT07293377
Summary
This study tested a simple risk calculator to predict which patients are most likely to die within 30 days after surgery. Researchers followed 3,000 patients at a Brazilian hospital, using just four pieces of information collected before surgery: age, health status, surgery urgency, and how major the operation was. The goal is to help doctors better identify high-risk patients so they can receive extra care and monitoring.
