Second chance: aggressive re-treatment for Kids' recurrent brain tumors

NCT ID NCT02125786

Summary

This study is testing whether surgery followed by a carefully planned second course of radiation can help control ependymoma, a type of brain tumor, that has come back after initial treatment. It involves children and young adults (ages 1-21) whose tumor has progressed. The main goals are to see if this approach extends life and controls the tumor while closely monitoring for serious side effects, like brain tissue damage.
