Surgery study aims to spare women from lasting bowel and bladder problems

NCT ID NCT01291576

Summary

This study compared two different surgical techniques for treating deep endometriosis that grows into the rectum. Researchers wanted to know if removing a section of the colon and rectum causes more long-term problems with bowel and bladder function than a more conservative surgery that just removes the endometriosis nodules. They followed 60 women for two years after their surgery to track these outcomes.
