Doctors test new scan to get fluid levels 'Just Right' in High-Risk surgeries

NCT ID NCT06188039

Summary

This study tested a specific heart ultrasound measurement to better predict which patients need extra fluids during major abdominal or aortic surgery. Researchers monitored 150 patients to see if this measurement could reliably tell if giving fluids would help the heart pump more effectively. The goal is to help doctors give the right amount of fluid during surgery to improve patient recovery and safety.
