Navigating the path to a curative surgery: study aims to fix healthcare delays
NCT ID NCT06562881
Summary
This study tests whether having a patient navigator helps people from historically marginalized groups get surgery for primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) more quickly and reliably. PHPT is a gland condition that causes high calcium levels, leading to fatigue, pain, and organ damage, but it can often be cured with a single, low-risk surgery. Researchers will see if direct help with scheduling appointments increases the number of people who complete a surgical consultation and ultimately get the curative operation.
