Could a 100-Year-Old drug help control autism symptoms?

NCT ID NCT06866275

Summary

This study is testing whether repeated intravenous doses of an older drug called suramin (now called KZ101) can help improve social skills and other core symptoms in boys with autism. About 45 boys aged 5-14 will receive either the drug or a placebo for 8 weeks, then switch after a break. Researchers will measure changes in social behavior, communication, and daily living skills to see if the treatment is safe and shows promise.
