New combo treatment may speed up frozen shoulder recovery

NCT ID NCT06176248

First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a suprascapular nerve block (a temporary numbing injection) to standard frozen shoulder treatments like physical therapy and cortisone shots can help people recover faster. About 62 adults with significant shoulder stiffness will be randomly assigned to get either the standard treatment alone or the standard treatment plus the nerve block. The main goal is to see if more people in the nerve block group have meaningful improvement in shoulder pain and function after one month.
