NCT ID NCT07477301
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding structured supportive psychotherapy to the medication risperidone helps improve thinking and reduce inflammation in people with schizophrenia. Forty-six men took part, with half receiving both therapy and medication, and the other half receiving medication alone for six weeks. The results showed that those who also received therapy had better cognitive function and lower levels of a key inflammation marker (hs-CRP) compared to those on medication only.
