New approach aims to ease emotional burden of advanced eye cancer

NCT ID NCT04728113

Summary

This study tested whether adding supportive care services early alongside standard cancer treatment helps meet patients' psychological needs better than waiting until problems arise. Researchers compared two groups of adults with metastatic uveal melanoma (eye cancer that has spread) over 6-12 months. The study focused on measuring patients' emotional and support needs through questionnaires rather than testing new cancer treatments.
