School program shows promise in preventing childhood anxiety

Summary

This study tested a program called Super Skills for Life (SSL) to help children with anxiety and depression. 126 fifth-grade students from six schools in Pakistan took part. The program uses cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques in eight sessions to teach coping skills and boost self-esteem. Researchers measured changes in anxiety, depression, social skills, and quality of life right after the program and again six months later.
