Drug before surgery tested to shrink advanced kidney cancer

Summary

This study is testing if taking the drug sunitinib before surgery helps control metastatic kidney cancer. It involves about 50 patients with advanced kidney cancer who are eligible for surgery to remove their primary tumor. The main goals are to see if the drug delays cancer progression and is safe when given around the time of surgery.
