First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests a simple, one-session method called Safety Planning Intervention (SPI) to help people in crisis. About 8,000 adults at risk for suicide will receive SPI, which helps them create a personal plan to manage suicidal thoughts and connect with support. Researchers will track if this approach reduces emergency visits and hospital stays for suicide attempts across Swedish psychiatric units.
