NCT ID NCT07294053

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether putting warning labels on sugary drinks helps people choose healthier options. Over 500 adults will shop in a mock store and see either a warning label or a plain label on drinks. Researchers will track how much sugar people buy and drink over four weekly visits.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Added sugar warning label

What this could lead to

If it works, this could show that simple warning labels help people buy fewer sugary drinks, which may inform public health policies.

What could go wrong

This is a small, short-term study in a mock store, not real life. People may behave differently at home, and the effect might not last or lead to long-term health changes.
