First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested a new, non-invasive device called SUDOSCAN that measures sweat function to detect small fiber neuropathy (nerve damage) in people with autoimmune diseases (like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis) or unexplained pain. Researchers enrolled 139 adults to see how common this nerve damage is in these groups. The goal was to see if SUDOSCAN can help doctors find nerve problems early and track them over time.
