Sweat test may clear up cannabis hair testing in toddlers

NCT ID NCT07524088

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether a cannabis byproduct called THC-COOH can be found in the sweat of young children (3 months to 3 years) who have been brought to the emergency room for acute cannabis intoxication. Researchers want to know if sweat contamination could affect hair tests used to check for past cannabis use. The study will collect sweat and blood samples within the first 24 hours after admission and measure THC-COOH levels. Results will help doctors better understand how to interpret hair tests in young children.
