Text message advice could keep kids with fever out of the ER
NCT ID NCT07248488
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether giving parents standardized fever advice during an emergency call plus a follow-up text message can reduce unnecessary doctor visits and ER trips for children aged 3 months to 10 years with uncomplicated fever. About 1,792 parents will be randomly assigned to receive either usual care or the enhanced advice and text message. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost intervention improves how parents manage fever and reduces strain on the healthcare system.
