Summary
This study aimed to understand the situation of children in China who need mechanical ventilation (breathing machine support) for a long time—21 days or more. Researchers looked at 346 children across multiple hospitals to find out the main medical causes, how long children needed support, and what their survival rates were. The goal was to gather crucial information to help improve future care for these vulnerable children.
