Scientists search fathers' sperm for clues to children's unexplained developmental disorders

NCT ID NCT04564235

Summary

This study aimed to understand how developmental disorders might be passed from fathers to children. Researchers analyzed genetic material from 5 families where children had unexplained developmental issues. They compared children's DNA with both parents' DNA and specifically examined fathers' sperm to see if genetic changes found in children also appeared in the sperm, which could indicate risk of passing the condition to future children.
