Scientists hunt hidden staph in bone infections

NCT ID NCT04625478

Summary

This study aimed to understand why some staph bone and joint infections become chronic and hard to treat. Researchers examined tissue samples from 50 patients with these infections to see if the bacteria were hiding inside the body's own cells. The goal was to learn more about this hiding process to inform future treatment strategies.
