Summary
This study aims to understand how gastric bypass surgery affects the body's insulin production and blood sugar control. Researchers are recruiting people who have had the surgery—some with and some without low blood sugar problems—as well as healthy people who haven't had surgery. They will test how gut hormones and nerve signals influence insulin to learn why the surgery can rapidly improve diabetes but also sometimes lead to severe low blood sugar years later.
