Doctors probe how to Fine-Tune Life-Support breathing machines
NCT ID NCT07203781
Summary
This study aims to understand how adjusting a key setting on a mechanical ventilator (called PEEP) affects a patient's own breathing effort and muscle function. It will observe 20 adult ICU patients with severe lung failure who are already on a breathing machine. Researchers will carefully measure how different pressure levels impact breathing muscles and lung function to gather data for future care improvements.
