First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at 20 critically ill patients on breathing machines to see which method of testing their ability to breathe on their own causes less muscle fatigue. Patients tried two different breathing tests, and researchers measured muscle activity using special sensors. The goal was to find a better way to predict who can safely come off the ventilator.
