New chemo strategy may let some sinus cancer patients skip surgery

NCT ID NCT07320508

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to treat a rare sinus cancer called sinonasal adenoid cystic carcinoma. Doctors deliver a strong chemotherapy drug directly to the tumor through a small tube, aiming to shrink it as much as possible. After three treatments, scans will show if the tumor disappeared. If it did, patients may avoid major surgery and only need radiation. If not, they will have surgery followed by radiation. The goal is to improve outcomes and reduce the need for extensive surgery in this hard-to-treat cancer.
