Scientists probe the Mind's role in unexplained environmental illness

NCT ID NCT06800976

Summary

This study aims to understand how thinking patterns differ in people with idiopathic environmental intolerance (IEI), a condition where individuals experience symptoms they attribute to environmental factors like chemicals or electromagnetic fields, despite no identifiable medical cause. Researchers will compare 69 healthy volunteers to people with IEI by having them complete questionnaires and computer-based thinking tasks. The goal is to gather knowledge about the cognitive aspects of IEI to inform future understanding and potential support strategies.
