First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking activated bamboo charcoal and probiotics can reduce inflammation and slow the progression of chronic kidney disease in people with diabetes. About 300 participants with different stages of kidney disease will take these supplements for 6 or 12 months alongside their usual care. Researchers will track kidney function, gut health, and inflammatory markers to see if this approach helps protect the kidneys.
