Summary
This study looked at medical records of 721 Russian patients who had surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome to see how many also have a rare inherited nerve disease called hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis. The goal was to measure how common this disease is in that group. No treatments or new tests were given; researchers simply collected existing data.
