Could fish oil or celecoxib tame aggressive pregnancy breast cancer?

NCT ID NCT01881048

First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether two anti-inflammatory drugs—fish oil and celecoxib—could reduce inflammation and slow tumor growth in women with pregnancy-associated breast cancer. 42 women with breast cancer stages I to IV took one of the drugs for at least a week before their planned surgery. Researchers measured changes in a tumor growth marker called Ki-67 to see if the drugs had an effect. The goal was to gather early data to help design future, larger studies.
