Doctors question need for routine x-rays after back surgery

NCT ID NCT07200557

Summary

This study looked back at nearly 1,000 patients to see if the standard X-rays taken after spinal fusion surgery actually help doctors make decisions. Researchers wanted to find out how often these X-rays led to a change in treatment, like ordering more tests or adjusting medication. The goal is to determine if some of these routine X-rays could be safely skipped to reduce patient radiation exposure and healthcare costs.
