Hospital tests three blood checks for hidden parasite before surgeries
NCT ID NCT07296198
Summary
This study compared three different blood tests to see which one is best at detecting a parasitic infection called strongyloidiasis. Researchers looked at blood samples from 80 adults who had been tested for the parasite. The goal was to find the most accurate test to help prevent severe infections in people who are about to receive an organ transplant or start strong medications that weaken their immune system.
