Trial aims to shrink tough rectal tumors with aggressive chemo cocktail

NCT ID NCT03997435

Summary

This study is testing if adding a more intensive chemotherapy combination (called FOLFOXIRI) to the standard pre-surgery treatment can better shrink aggressive rectal tumors. It involves 72 adults with high-risk, locally advanced rectal cancer that hasn't spread to distant organs. The main goal is to see if this intensified approach leads to more patients having no detectable cancer left in their surgical specimen.
