Could a tiny dose of blood thinner slash stroke risk in seniors?

NCT ID NCT07454707

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a very low dose of the blood thinner edoxaban (15 mg daily) to standard aspirin or clopidogrel therapy can better prevent recurrent strokes in people aged 75 and older who have had an ischemic stroke. About 1,200 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the added blood thinner or standard care alone. The goal is to see if this combination reduces stroke risk without causing dangerous bleeding.
