Race to find safer stroke treatment: new drug challenge for blocked neck artery

NCT ID NCT05225961

Summary

This study aims to find the safest and most effective blood-thinning medication for patients experiencing a severe stroke caused by a blockage in both the neck and brain arteries. It will compare two drugs, Tirofiban and intravenous Aspirin, in 240 patients who receive emergency clot removal and a neck stent. The main goal is to see which drug better prevents the neck artery from re-clogging while minimizing the risk of dangerous brain bleeding.
