Breakthrough stroke trial tests drug to boost recovery after emergency clot removal

NCT ID NCT07026318

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a medication called tirofiban after emergency clot removal (endovascular therapy) helps people recover better from a severe stroke. It will involve 716 patients who have had a stroke caused by a blocked brain artery. Half will receive tirofiban and half will receive a placebo (inactive substance) after their procedure, and researchers will compare how well they function 90 days later.
