Summary

This study is testing whether a surgical procedure to remove a blood clot is better than standard medication alone for people who have had a severe stroke in the back of the brain. It will involve about 308 patients who have had a major stroke within the last 24 hours. The main goal is to see which treatment helps more people regain their independence and ability to walk within 90 days.
