Race against time: new hope for stroke patients misses early treatment window
NCT ID NCT05752916
Summary
This study tested whether a clot-dissolving drug (rhTNK-tPA) could help patients recover better from a certain type of stroke, even if given much later than usual—between 4.5 and 24 hours after symptoms start. It involved 570 patients across China who had a stroke but not a major artery blockage. The main goal was to see if patients had little to no disability 90 days after receiving the drug compared to standard care.
